Privacy Policy & Working Agreement

This Privacy Policy includes my Working Agreement, which outlines the terms of our work together, how your data is used, and your rights.
1. Who I Am
I’m Amber Fieldgate, trading as AB Counselling Services/ ADHD with Amber, providing online Therapy and services.

2. Confidentiality
All information shared in sessions is confidential, except when:
Risk of harm — If I believe you or someone else is at serious risk, I may need to break confidentiality (I will tell you first where possible).
Legal requirements — If I’m required by law to share information (e.g., court order, safeguarding).
Supervision — I discuss cases anonymously in professional supervision to ensure best practice.
3. Data Protection
I comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Session notes are stored securely — paper notes locked away, electronic notes password-protected.
You can request a copy of your data or ask for deletion.
No digital communication is 100% secure, so sensitive matters are best discussed in session.
4. Sessions
Length — 50 minutes
Frequency — Usually weekly, but we can agree otherwise
Consistent attendance supports progress.
5. Fees & Payment
Per session: £65
Block bookings: £260 (4 sessions), £390 (6 sessions)
Payment is due at least 1 week in advance by bank transfer:
6. Cancellation Policy
Your allowance: 2 missed sessions every 6 months without charge if you give at least 7 days’ notice.
Less than 7 days’ notice is charged in full and doesn’t count toward your allowance.
Missed sessions beyond your allowance are charged in full.
If I cancel (holidays/illness), you will not be charged.
7. Ending Therapy
You can end at any time.
I may recommend ending if therapy is no longer beneficial, and will help with referrals.
I encourage a planned ending to reflect on progress.
8. Ethical Practice
I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. You have the right to:

Access your records
Make a complaint about the service
9. Communication
Email is best between sessions, but responses may not be immediate.
I don’t provide crisis services (see section 11).

12. Jurisdiction
Any disputes are under the jurisdiction of UK courts, even if you live elsewhere.
